Scrapbooking Ideas

You can do anything you like. The world is your oyster. Don't feel restricted by what anybody else thinks or does. You can use your creativity to make your scrapbook your own style. Before you start your scrapbook, decide on your theme, color scheme, scrapbook size, and format.
Deciding on the theme of your scrapbook is a very important decision and you should do this before starting work. There are so many different reasons for creating a scrapbook. You might want to make a baby book. New mothers who want to remember every moment of their child's life might want to keep a scrapbook rather than an old-fashioned baby book. As soon as the new mother finds out she is pregnant, she could at least start to take pictures, keep mementos and start writing down her thoughts. Later when she decides to begin the book, she will have all she needs all ready. The baby scrapbook is probably the most popular scrapbook because everyone wants to remember the period as their child is growing up.
As your baby grows, so will the scrapbook and many mothers like to do a different book for each year so by the time your child is eighteen, there would be a whole stack of scrapbooks. This way you will have a complete record of your child growing up and all the events that occured as they grew.
A graduation scrapbook is another very popular idea and you could start with the very first day of school right through to graduation. Including various school pictures, report cards, drawings, pictures of friends, and any other important events that happen during the school year. Of course, you would want to include the graduation too, so the gift may have to wait a few weeks after graduation to allow you complete it. Be sure to ask all your family members to contribute at least one page and to journal their thoughts about the graduate to make it a really personal, family gift.
Weddings are popular scrapbooking subjects. This book should include details of the courtship, the engagement, and finally the wedding and honeymoon. This book will always have a special place in the couples life and will be a priceless memory to cherish forever. You may even want to include a bridal shower when the guests can help with the book. This is a good time for everyone to write their thoughts about the bride and groom. Be sure to include pictures of the groom so that he won't feel left out and his mother won't think you forgot about him.
Another very important type of scrapbook is the memory scrapbook which is a book that depicts the life of someone who has died but whose memory will live on forever. This book is especially precious for those in mourning and after a period of time for grieving, when you feel the time is right, you can begin the book. This experience can actually be a very therapeutic one because going through pictures of happy times will help you to remember the good times.
You can choose any theme or idea and you can never go wrong with a scrapbook. It doesn't matter whether you make it for yourself or for some other special person, creating a scrapbook is certainly a joy and recieving one is always a pleasure.
